Stone Steel Corporation began in 1971 with a couple loads of import angle and some old government surplus desks. For the first 30 years Stone steel developed into a national master distributor. Our company was the standard bearer for a new model of distributor and many of the industries leaders in wholesale distribution began their careers at stone. During the early days of the great recession, rebar was one of the only products that had any volume of business. We began to shift our focus towards reinforcing bar and the concrete industry. In 2010, the company was acquired by its current owner, Vince Pappas. Since those early rebar days, we have grown into a full service contractors supply providing rebar fabrication, concrete and masonry accessories, and rebar pins to contractors both local and throughout the mid-atlantic region.
None of this growth would have been possible without providing outstanding customer support, on-time delivery and filling needs many others cannot.
Stone Steel now operates in a 35,000 square foot warehouse facility in Baltimore which houses a semiautomatic horizontal band saw, a rebar fabrication division and a few new desks. Additionally, Stone Steel has material situated across the U.S. to ensure rapid delivery regardless of your location.
Stone Steel can cut to size, perform light fabrication, and do just about anything to a rebar that you require. Through our export division, we have supplied fabricated rebar for an embassy in Africa and sent I-beams and Channels to a Ford production plant in Spain.
As a Nationwide Steel Products Distributor, Stone Steel has supplied steel to the new stadiums in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. We also sell steel everyday to facilities from New England to New Mexico that help schools to be built, roads to be constructed, and bridges to be maintained.
Our steel can be found in the large recycle container at your local landfill to the fireplace tools and grate on your hearth. When you push around a big cart at your local Discount warehouse, you may be pushing some Stone steel. When you load your boat onto your trailer, it could be Stone steel holding it together.
Our dedication to our client’s satisfaction has allowed us to grow to the point where now wherever steel is being used, we have probably had a hand in the supply, fabrication, or manufacturing.
